Barrel Beta was a cocktail bar that was in process to be opened, but never ultimately opened. The name comes from the owners’ love of rock climbing, which is how they met. Beta is a rock climbing term that loosely means the knowledge of how to do a thing. So, in the context of the name, it is meant to symbolize the knowledge of what to do with what comes out of a barrel. One of the founders was also a surfer, so the logo drew inspiration from not only the alchemical symbol for rock, but also the alchemical symbol for water.
